One black shirt

Art Class Week 8 of 8. 27 Mar 2006.
I'm quite happy with this piece from far away, and after I've taken another look at it. I hated it in class, but I think I lost all objectivity after staring at it from 730pm till 10pm. Got quite frustrated after about 930pm, when (I felt) it wasn't coming together as I had hoped, and I pretty much gave up after that. I would have liked to come back to it another day, but then this is the last class, and it would have been impossible to get the same folds and shadow areas from the shirt.

The teacher amused us with the story of how he bought the shirt - apparently it cost S$3 from the Salvation Army, and he almost didn't manage to get it for us because he was late or something. Then we teased him about being familiar with the Salvation Army thrift store, which he sheepishly admitted to liking. Good thing he's quite good-natured, or we might have been kicked out of class - on our last lesson to boot! (And I rather like the thrift store too!)
